Women’s Forum Sierra Leone Holds Successful Inception Meeting in Falaba Under Spotlight Initiative 2.0
Women’s Forum Sierra Leone has successfully held a strategic inception meeting in Falaba District as part of activities under Spotlight Initiative 2.0, marking a key step in strengthening community engagement to end violence against women and girls.
The meeting, held on 1 May 2026 at the Falaba District Council Hall, brought together key stakeholders including community leaders and partners. The engagement focused on building stronger collaboration, promoting local ownership, and encouraging collective action to address violence against women and girls.
As the lead implementing partner for UN Women, WFSL is executing the project titled “Strengthening Women’s Rights Movements and Transforming Social Norms to End Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) and Harmful Practices (HP).” The Falaba meeting forms part of a wider outreach effort aimed at ensuring grassroots participation and long-term impact.
The completion of inception meetings across three districts represents a major milestone in the project rollout. It reflects growing commitment from communities, improved coordination among stakeholders, and renewed efforts to promote gender equality and safer communities.
WFSL continues to work closely with communities, institutions, and development partners to build inclusive, accountable, and violence-free societies for women and girls across Sierra Leone.
